  • Marcus Hunt Owner/Closing Attorney
    Marcus has been practicing real estate law in the Birmingham area since 2004. He has helped both commercial and residential clients close real estate transactions throughout Alabama. He works with commercial buyers and sellers in performing necessary due diligence prior to closing as well as clearing title issues.

    Marcus is a partner with Duell | Hunt law firm. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and has been admitted to practice in the State of Alabama and before the United States District Courts for Alabama. He is married to Rachel Hunt and has two boys, Caedmon and Levi.

  • Robert O. McNearney III Owner/Closing Attorney
    Robert McNearney has been practicing real estate law since 2008. He brings a vast knowledge and understanding on issues that arise when dealing with real estate. He assists clients of South Oak Title with the clearing of title issues and the closing of real estate transactions.

    Robert graduated from Birmingham School of Law in 2008 and has been an associate at the Duell Hunt Law Firm. In addition to managing operations at South Oak Title, Robert currently handles litigation for Duell Hunt and represents several homeowner’s associations in the greater Birmingham area.

    Robert attended Auburn University where he earned a B.A. in Political Science.  He is married to Emily B. McNearney, a Nurse Practitioner at UAB Hospital and they have a son, Anderson. Robert and Emily are members of Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church.

  • Neki Garrett Closing Attorney/Title Administrator
    Nedra "Neki" Garrett has been practicing law for over 10 years. She closes real estate transactions and helps process post closing documents for South Oak Title. After graduating from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2001, Neki worked in mass torts for an environmental litigation firm for many years. In 2008, she became Executive Director of Alabama Lawyers for the Arts, helping artists with their business and legal needs. She became a part of the Duell Hunt Law Firm which led to her position with South Oak Title and Closing Services.

    Neki attended the University of Alabama where she earned a B.S. in Business Administration. After graduating from UA, she attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham earning her M.B.A. in Management. Neki is married to Alvin Garrett, a full time musician and businessman, and they have two children, Grace and Greer. Neki serves on the scholarship board of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, enjoys teaching group fitness classes, and attends Church of the Highlands.
